John has been involved in church music and worship since his childhood, singing in church choirs and performing in musical groups. He began leading worship in high school at school chapels, bible studies, and retreats. In John’s final year at Calvin College, he studied as a worship apprentice, leading worship for student congregations in services varying from contemporary, taize, lectio divina, and traditional. After graduating with a Bachelors in Communication in Film and Audio Production, John did a fellowship in Charlottesville, Virginia at Trinity Presbyterian Church. There, he apprenticed under Isaac Wardell, and interned with the Christian music production, Bifrost Arts. After leaving Virginia, John got married and began worship directing on his own at various churches in West Michigan. In support of his wife's’ call to Princeton Theological Seminary, John moved to Princeton, New Jersey where he has been worship directing at Westminster since early 2013.
